Tipper Lorry Rams into House in Mannarkkad, Three Injured and House Collapses

Palakkad: Three individuals sustained injuries after a tipper lorry veered out of control and crashed into a residential house in Mannarkkad. The incident took place at approximately 6 AM on Tuesday at Pallikuruppu, situated along the Mannarkkad-Kongad road. The heavy vehicle careened into a house owned by a local resident of Konnakkad.

The injured have been identified as residents of Thiruvananthapuram, who were temporarily residing in the rented house while engaged in honeybee farming activities in the Mannarkkad area. One of the victims is reported to be in serious condition and has been admitted to a private hospital for urgent medical attention. The other two individuals, who suffered minor injuries, are currently receiving treatment at the Taluk Hospital.

The impact of the collision resulted in the complete destruction of the front portion of the house. Authorities noted that a potentially larger catastrophe was averted due to the absence of people in the courtyard or the immediate vicinity of the house during the early morning hours.

Mannarkkad Police have registered a case regarding the accident and have commenced an investigation to ascertain the precise cause. Preliminary assessments suggest that the tipper lorry’s loss of control was the primary factor leading to the crash.
