Final Cabinet Meeting of Second Pinarayi Government Set for May 5

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The second Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government in Kerala is scheduled to hold its final cabinet meeting on May 5. This meeting marks the conclusion of the ministry’s current term as the state prepares for the transition following the recent general elections.
The meeting is expected to review the administration’s performance over the past five years and finalize pending administrative decisions. Sources indicate that the cabinet will also discuss the formal procedures for the resignation of the current ministry, paving the way for the formation of the new government based on the election results.
Since taking office for a historic second consecutive term, the Pinarayi government has navigated significant milestones, including post-pandemic recovery and major infrastructure projects. The upcoming session at the Secretariat will likely be a formal gathering to wrap up the executive duties of the present council of ministers.
Following the meeting, the Chief Minister is expected to submit the cabinet’s collective resignation to the Governor, as per constitutional protocol.
