Screenwriter Abhilash Responds to Producer’s Allegations, Plans Legal Action Against Cyber Attacks

Screenwriter Abhilash has responded to allegations made by film producer Murali Kunnumpurathan, expressing deep hurt over being labeled a ‘betrayer’ after his significant contributions to completing their joint film project.
In a recent statement posted on social media, Abhilash addressed the accusations, highlighting his commitment to the creative process. He noted that despite the producer later claiming the disparaging remarks were a slip of the tongue and withdrawing them, the emotional impact of the public accusations remained severe. Abhilash recalled the period when he had personally solicited funds and provided exhaustive support to ensure the film reached the audience, noting that he was viewed with high regard by the producer during those challenging times.
Reflecting on his career, Abhilash stated, “I have been working as a writer in the film industry for the past four years, and through my own hard work and divine grace, I have brought six films to you. For me, cinema is not just a profession but a source of joy; I have never viewed it as a mere means to accumulate wealth.”
Abhilash further expressed concern over the “cyber attacks” he and others associated with the film have faced in the last two days. He emphasized that these attacks were largely orchestrated by fake accounts, occurring without any objective assessment of the facts.
“Since I do not have the financial capacity to engage in public relations (PR) tactics like those used against us, I have decided to pursue legal recourse with full confidence to address these activities,” Abhilash asserted. He clarified that he is not affiliated with any political party and placed his trust solely in the audience and the legal system.
Concluding his statement, he thanked those who stood by him during this ordeal and expressed his intention to use these challenges as a learning experience to create better films in the future. “I accept criticism and constructive counter-arguments, and my only path forward is to learn from mistakes and strive for excellence,” he added.
