Four-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Run Over by Reversing School Bus in Idukki

Idukki: A tragic incident in Cheruthoni has led to the death of a four-year-old pre-school student after she was run over by a school bus. The deceased has been identified as Hazel Ben, a student of Vazhathoppu Girijyothi Public School. The accident took place within the school courtyard.

Another child, Inaya Faisal, who was with Hazel at the time of the incident, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. The accident occurred as Hazel, having just disembarked from one school bus, was walking behind it to enter her classroom. Simultaneously, another school bus, which was reversing in the courtyard, tragically ran over the child.

Hazel was immediately rushed to a nearby medical college; however, doctors were unable to save her life. Inaya Faisal, the other child involved, suffered severe leg injuries. Police have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the fatality and injuries.
