KSRTC Conductor Fired for Not Dropping Girl Students at Requested Spot at Night

A KSRTC conductor has been dismissed from service following a complaint that he failed to drop girl students at their requested bus stop late at night. Suresh Babu, a temporary conductor attached to the Thiruvananthapuram Central Unit, has been removed from his position after a thorough investigation by the KSRTC Vigilance Department. The vigilance inquiry found clear evidence of negligence on the part of the conductor, leading to the stringent disciplinary action.
The incident in question took place on Friday night aboard a bus operating on the Thrissur to Thiruvananthapuram route. The female students had specifically requested to alight at Pongam, a location situated between Angamaly and Muringoor. However, the conductor disregarded their request and instead dropped them at the Chalakudy bus stand.
The KSRTC Vigilance Department concluded that the conductor had violated a standing order which mandates that female passengers must be dropped at their desired stop during nighttime hours. This breach of protocol, designed to ensure the safety and convenience of women travelers, was the primary reason for his dismissal.
