Woman and Man Die After Being Hit by Train in Thiruvananthapuram; Police Investigation Underway

A woman and a man died after being hit by a train in Pettah, Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased have been identified as Vinod Kannan and Harivishalakshi, both natives of Madurai. The incident occurred around 1 AM when they were struck by the Kollam-Tirunelveli train.

Police in Madurai had previously registered a missing person’s case for both individuals. According to the police, the two were related.

Authorities are currently investigating whether the incident was a suicide or an accident. Relatives of the deceased have been informed and have departed from Madurai. Inquest procedures will be completed, and the bodies will be moved to the hospital for post-mortem examination, after which they will be handed over to their relatives.
