Woman Accuses Congress Leader Rahul Mamkootathil of Threat, Sexual Assault in Thiruvananthapuram Flat

More revelations have emerged in the 20-page statement given by a woman against Congress leader Rahul Mamkootathil. The woman alleged that Rahul threatened her by showing her nude videos and sexually assaulted her in a flat in Thrikkannapuram, Thiruvananthapuram.

On Thursday evening, the complainant, accompanied by another woman, visited the Chief Minister’s office to present the matter and submit a written complaint. She also handed over digital evidence, including WhatsApp messages and audio recordings. Following this, the Chief Minister forwarded the complaint to ADGP H. Venkatesh, and officials subsequently convened a meeting at the police headquarters to decide on further action.

Allegations against Rahul Mamkootathil first surfaced in August, but the complainant had not appeared in person until now. However, based on applications submitted to the State Police Chief, the Crime Branch had initiated an investigation. Investigating officers identified the woman whose voice was heard in the audio recordings and had requested a written complaint, but she had previously declined to file one. Rahul Mamkootathil has neither confirmed nor denied that the voice in the recordings is his.

Following the woman’s complaint alleging sexual assault, the police have registered a case against Rahul Mamkootathil. The charges include rape under the pretext of marriage and forced abortion. An FIR has been registered under non-bailable sections at Nedumangad Valiyamala Police Station. This action follows the direct complaint made recently to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. A team led by Rural SP K.S. Sudarsan recorded the woman’s statement.
