Congress Leader Jose Nelledam’s Suicide Note Cites Lack of Party Support and Social Media Harassment

Jose Nelledam, a Congress leader from Pulpally in Wayanad, Kerala, who recently ended his life, left behind a suicide note detailing the reasons for his extreme step. The note, discovered at his residence, explicitly states that the party failed to support him and that continuous personal attacks on social media caused him immense distress.

Nelledam had been a figure of controversy, facing accusations related to allegedly framing a Congress ward president in a false case. His suicide note further elaborated on the profound mental anguish he experienced due to the relentless personal attacks disseminated through social media platforms. Additionally, he mentioned being burdened by a significant financial liability amounting to lakhs of rupees.

Following the revelation, District Congress Committee (DCC) President N.D. Appachan strongly condemned the circumstances, alleging that Jose Nelledam was a victim of targeted cyber propaganda and personal defamation orchestrated by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM). The funeral services for Jose Nelledam are scheduled to take place tomorrow evening.

This incident has cast a shadow over the local political landscape in Wayanad, raising concerns about the impact of social media campaigns and the support systems within political parties.
