Actress Rini Ann George Joins CPM Stage, Speaks Against Cyber Harassment

Kochi: Actress Rini Ann George, who had previously leveled allegations against MLA Rahul Mankootathil, made an appearance on a Communist Party of India (Marxist) platform. She participated in a CPM protest meeting held in North Paravoor, organized to condemn the cyber attack faced by K.J. Shine.

During the event, K.J. Shine extended a welcome to Rini to join the party. The protest meeting was inaugurated by former minister K.J. Shailaja. K.J. Shine took the opportunity to criticize the political party Rini was associated with, stating it represents a group that subjects women to ‘Smarthavicharam’ – a traditional inquisition-like social boycott.

Shine emphasized, “Women like Rini should align with this movement. While Rini is free to make her own decisions, we heartily welcome her when she reaches a point of understanding.” The CPM organized this ‘Women’s Resistance’ program specifically in response to the campaigns targeting K.J. Shine.

Rini Ann George, addressing the gathering, reiterated her earlier statement: “I had openly shared that I faced some inappropriate behavior from a young leader. However, I chose not to name the organization or the individual, aiming not to cause distress to any movement. My intention was never to harm anyone. I merely raised the question of whether young individuals entering politics should conduct themselves in such a manner. Is this how women should be treated? Despite refraining from naming anyone, I was subjected to a massive and terrifying wave of cyber attacks.”
