20-Year-Old Hotel Employee Dies After Ambulance Collides with Scooter in Thiruvalla

KOTTAYAM: A 20-year-old scooter rider, identified as Muhammad Shifan from Vythiri, Wayanad, a hotel employee, died after his scooter collided with an ambulance in Thiruvalla. The tragic accident occurred around 2:30 PM on Wednesday at Kacheripady on the Thiruvalla-Ambalappuzha State Highway.
Shifan, an employee of Oasis Hotel at Kurishukavala, Thiruvalla, was riding his scooter when it was struck by an ambulance. The ambulance was en route to Kottayam Medical College, transporting a patient who had suffered a stroke.
Following the collision, two additional ambulances were immediately dispatched to the accident site. The stroke patient, who was being transported in the first ambulance, was swiftly transferred to another ambulance and continued their journey to Kottayam Medical College for urgent medical attention.
Muhammad Shifan, having sustained severe injuries in the impact, was rushed to Thiruvalla Taluk Hospital where he received preliminary treatment. However, due to critical injuries to his abdomen and head, he was quickly transferred to Kottayam Medical College. Despite the medical efforts, his life could not be saved.
Muhammad Shifan was the son of Jaleel and Sajna, residing at Panthrandampalam Jubileevayal Pallyalil in Vythiri, Wayanad.
