Chicking Manager in Kochi Dismissed Following Violent Scuffle Over Sandwich Complaint

Kochi: Chicking management has dismissed a manager following a violent scuffle in Kochi that arose from a complaint about insufficient chicken in a sandwich. The manager, identified as Joshua, was terminated while an investigation into the incident is ongoing. The company has stated unequivocally that violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The incident had drawn widespread criticism against both the manager and the establishment.
Joshua, a native of Fort Kochi, is currently undergoing treatment for injuries sustained during the altercation. In response to the incident, the company announced its intention to revise the training provided to its employees. Joshua, who served as the manager of the Chicking outlet on MG Road in Kochi, allegedly brandished a knife in provocation towards students who had complained about the lack of chicken in their sandwich. This act escalated into a physical confrontation. Kochi Central Police have registered a case based on complaints filed by both parties involved.
The scuffle originated when students, who were in Kochi for the CBSE School State Sports Meet, visited the Chicking outlet on MG Road. They reportedly complained to the staff that their sandwiches contained hardly any chicken, which quickly led to a verbal argument. As the commotion intensified, the students exited the store.
Subsequently, the students informed their elder brothers that they had been threatened by the staff and that the matter needed to be addressed. Their relatives, the brothers, promptly rushed to the store, and the situation rapidly escalated from verbal exchanges to a physical altercation. It was at this point that the Chicking manager reportedly ran to the kitchen and returned with a knife. During the ensuing confrontation, the opposing group managed to overpower and assault the manager.
Both parties sought hospital treatment for their injuries. By the time Central Police arrived at the scene after being informed, both groups had already approached the police to file complaints. The manager, in his statement, alleged that those who accompanied the students snatched his mobile phone and fled, and that he had resorted to taking the knife to defend himself. Conversely, the other party contended that it was the Chicking employees who initiated the physical assault.
