Actress Rini Ann George Receives Death Threats Following Complaint Against Rahul Mamkootathil

Actress Rini Ann George, who publicly accused youth leader Rahul Mamkootathil, has reportedly received death threats. According to a complaint filed by her father, two unidentified individuals appeared at her residence, issuing a stern warning: “Touch Rahul, and we will kill you.” The Paravur police have launched an investigation into the matter.

The threats come days after Rahul Mamkootathil was expelled from the Congress party, an action Rini Ann George had welcomed. Following his expulsion, she expressed her satisfaction, stating, “This is a victory for truth. I share in the happiness of the survivors. I thank the party for taking a pro-women stance. I faced a lot of cyberattacks, but now the court has confirmed everything is true. I am happy to have been instrumental in providing justice to my sisters.”

Rini Ann George first brought to light allegations against Mamkootathil during a press conference held in Kochi. Without explicitly naming him at the time, she accused a young leader of inappropriate behaviour spanning three years. Her revelations served as a catalyst, encouraging other women to come forward with their own complaints against Mamkootathil.

Recounting her experience, Rini stated, “I met him through social media. His inappropriate behavior started three years ago when I first received offensive messages. When I threatened to expose this behavior, his response was, ‘Tell whoever you want… Who cares?'” She further revealed that while she did not face physical assault, she received persistent offensive messages. “He once suggested booking a room in a five-star hotel and asked me to come. When I reacted strongly, there was no issue for a while. But later, he started sending me messages again,” she elaborated.

Rahul Mamkootathil is currently navigating legal challenges. He has secured a favourable order from the High Court, preventing his arrest in connection with one case. He is presently awaiting the verdict on his anticipatory bail application related to a second harassment complaint.
