Actress Minu Muneer has been arrested in a case alleging defamation of actor Balachandra Menon on social media. The Infopark Cyber Police recorded her arrest and subsequently released her on station bail.
The actress had made sexual harassment allegations against Balachandra Menon via social media. She claimed to have faced numerous negative experiences and stated that she was a witness to several of Balachandra Menon’s actions. Balachandra Menon filed a complaint with the Infopark Cyber Police, asserting that these revelations were defamatory. Based on this complaint, a non-bailable case was registered against Minu Muneer.
Minu Muneer challenged this by approaching the Sessions Court, but her anticipatory bail plea was denied. She then moved the High Court, where she was granted anticipatory bail. Her appearance before the investigating officer was a condition of this bail.
Balachandra Menon maintains that the actress made baseless allegations against him. However, Minu Muneer responded by saying she shared her own experiences. Police sources indicate that the alleged incidents occurred years ago and that the actress lacks sufficient evidence to substantiate her claims. While the actress has made several allegations, the police state that she does not possess the evidence to prove them.
