A young man working at a private de-addiction centre has been arrested by the Chalakudy Range Excise team for possessing 4.5 grams of MDMA. The accused has been identified as Vivek (25), also known as ‘Dooley Vivek’, from Mangattukara House, Chettarikkal, Koratty.
His arrest followed a tip-off that he was selling drugs to patients at the de-addiction centre without the knowledge of the authorities. Excise officials stated that Vivek is a key member of a drug trafficking ring operating from Angamaly. He allegedly sold the synthetic drug using the code word “point,” charging ₹3,000 per half-gram. Excise officers also noted that Vivek has a history of involvement in cases related to synthetic drugs and physical assault.
