Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Departs for US for Medical Treatment

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan departed for the United States early this morning at 3:00 AM for follow-up medical examinations as part of his ongoing treatment at the Mayo Clinic. Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak and Police Chief Rawada Chandrashekhar were present at the airport to see him off. The Chief Minister’s office announced that he will remain in the US for ten days for the treatment.

This marks the Chief Minister’s first medical visit to the US since September 2018. He has traveled to the US for treatment on multiple occasions since then. The Chief Minister’s office stated that the current visit is a continuation of the treatment he received in 2023.

No one has been assigned his duties in his absence. The Chief Minister’s office stated that he will attend cabinet meetings online if necessary and will handle files through the e-office system.
