Muslim League Worker Attacked in Kozhikode; SDPI Alleged to be Behind the Incident

Kozhikode: A Muslim League worker was brutally attacked with deadly weapons at Nadvannur Anthamkavu. T.G. Shakeer, a native of Azhiyur, was injured in the assault, which occurred on Wednesday evening. Shakeer sustained injuries across his body and has been admitted to a private hospital in Vadakara. The Muslim League leadership has strongly alleged that workers from the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) are responsible for the attack.
According to initial reports, a four-member SDPI group surrounded and assaulted Shakeer. The incident is believed to be a direct consequence of ongoing disputes between the two political factions in the Vadakara Azhiyur region, which originated during the recent local elections. Despite the conclusion of the elections, severe political tensions have continued to plague the area between the two groups. The League leadership has stated its intention to lodge a formal complaint regarding the incident at the Palissery Police Station. In response to the brutal attack, the Muslim League has called for a day of protest in the area today.
