Lookout Notice Issued Against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Thiruvananthapuram: A lookout notice has been issued against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, amidst concerns he might flee abroad after a woman filed a complaint alleging sexual assault. The notice has been circulated to all airports, including the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, as police are not ruling out the possibility of him escaping overseas due to his extensive network of international contacts.
The case against Rahul has been registered under non-bailable sections, and those associated with him are also under surveillance. The complainant stated that she delayed filing the report because Rahul allegedly threatened her by recording private visuals of her on his mobile phone. Her complaint further alleges that Rahul raped her at flats located in Thrikkannapuram and Palakkad.
The police have charged Rahul with serious offenses, including sexual assault on the pretext of marriage and coercing her into an unscientific abortion. The Nedumangad Valiyamala Police in Thiruvananthapuram registered the case. The charges carry a potential punishment ranging from 10 years to life imprisonment. A detailed statement from the complainant was recorded yesterday as part of the ongoing investigation.
