Bishop’s Car Attacked in Muvattupuzha; Headlights Smashed

Muvattupuzha, Kerala – Shamshabad Bishop Joseph Kollamparambil’s official vehicle was attacked on Wednesday, with its headlights and taillights deliberately smashed by a lorry driver. The incident occurred in Muvattupuzha after the driver had pursued the Bishop’s car from Perumbavoor.
The sequence of events began near Perumbavoor, where a minor collision took place between the Bishop’s car and the lorry. Considering the accident minor, Bishop Kollamparambil continued his journey towards Pala. However, the lorry driver chose to follow the Bishop’s car persistently.
The pursuit culminated at a signal in Muvattupuzha, where the lorry driver reportedly blocked the Bishop’s car before launching the assault. After damaging the vehicle, the driver fled the scene before police could arrive.
Authorities in Muvattupuzha have identified both the lorry and its driver involved in the attack. Police officials have stated that further legal action will be initiated once a formal complaint is registered.
Reacting to the incident, BJP State Vice President Shone George expressed serious concern, urging the police to address the situation with gravity, especially as it involves the assault of a revered spiritual leader. George demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and called for a thorough and comprehensive investigation into the matter.
