Sabarimala Gold Robbery: Crime Branch Registers Case, Ten Accused Including Unnikrishnan Potty

The Crime Branch has registered a case in connection with the Sabarimala gold robbery. A total of ten individuals, including Unnikrishnan Potty, his associates, and Devaswom officials, have been named as accused. They face charges of robbery, forgery, criminal breach of trust, and conspiracy.

The case will be handed over to a special investigation team. Crime Branch Chief H. Venkatesh is set to lead this team. The Crime Branch initiated the investigation due to its statewide jurisdiction.

The Crime Branch has filed two separate First Information Reports (FIRs) in the matter. Distinct cases have been registered for the alleged theft of gold from the ‘Dwarapalaka Shilpa Pali’ (sculpted panel of gatekeepers) and the main door frame. Ten individuals are accused in the Dwarapalaka Shilpa Pali case, while eight are accused in the door frame case. Smart Creations is not currently listed as an accused party. Unnikrishnan Potty has been identified as the main accused in both cases. Sources indicate that the Crime Branch may soon proceed with arrests and other necessary legal actions.
