PK Firoz: KT Jaleel’s Anxiety Stems from Fear of Corruption Exposure

Kozhikode: Youth League State General Secretary P.K. Firoz has asserted that the accusations leveled against him by K.T. Jaleel are a manifestation of Jaleel’s apprehension that his own corrupt dealings during his tenure as a minister might come to light. Firoz made these remarks during a press conference, responding to a Facebook post by K.T. Jaleel.
Jaleel’s recent Facebook post questioned whether Firoz was involved in ‘reverse hawala’ operations through Fortune House General Trading LCC, a company registered in Dubai. In response, Firoz expressed pride in being a businessman, stating that he earns a legitimate income and operates within legal boundaries.
Firoz highlighted that the current government, which holds power, has the authority to take action if he were involved in any wrongdoing. He argued that the absence of such action underscores his innocence. He also indicated that he is contemplating legal recourse against Jaleel’s allegations.
Addressing the specifics of Jaleel’s claims, Firoz clarified that the internal affairs of an overseas company, such as the number of employees and salary structures, are private matters. He challenged Jaleel to provide clear evidence of ‘reverse hawala’ involvement, dismissing the allegations as a mere tactic lacking substantiation. Firoz further criticized Jaleel for resorting to invoking religious texts when his arguments lack conviction.
He vehemently denied allegations of misappropriating Youth League funds for his business ventures or for acquiring land and property. Furthermore, Firoz announced his intention to soon unveil crucial evidence that would expose Jaleel’s role in the controversial land acquisition for Malayalam University.
