Kerala Police Continue to Excel in Recovering Lost and Stolen Mobile Phones
Kannur City Cyber Cell Restores 33 Devices to Owners; Over 300 Phones Recovered in Six Months

The Kerala Police continue to demonstrate exceptional efficiency in recovering lost and stolen mobile phones. In its latest success, the Kannur City Cyber Cell located and returned 33 missing mobile phones to their rightful owners.
The recovered phones were traced not only from various districts within Kerala but also from other Indian states including Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Karnataka. Some individuals who were found in possession of the devices personally returned them, while others were sent back via respective police stations and courier services. Kannur City Police Commissioner Nidhinraj P., IPS, officially handed over the phones to their owners. The Cyber Cell also facilitated the unblocking of these devices for their owners.
The successful recovery operation was carried out with the assistance of the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal. Commissioner Nidhinraj P. also detailed the procedures involved in utilizing this portal for tracing lost phones. The recovery efforts were led by Cyber Cell ASI M. Sreejith and CPO Dijin Raj P.K.
Notably, within the last six months alone, the Kannur Cyber Cell has successfully traced and returned approximately 300 mobile phones to their owners, underscoring their consistent dedication to combating mobile phone theft and loss.
