Actor-Director Nadhirshah Alleges Pet Hospital Negligence Led to Beloved Cat’s Death

Kochi: Actor and director Nadhirshah has accused a private pet hospital in Palarivattom, Ernakulam, of negligence leading to the death of his beloved pet cat. Nadhirshah claims that his cat, named ‘Nobel’, which he and his family dearly cherished, died due to the hospital authorities’ carelessness after he took it there for grooming. He publicly raised these allegations via Facebook and has since filed a complaint with the Palarivattom police.

According to Nadhirshah’s allegations, the cat died after being administered anesthesia prior to grooming, a common practice to prevent animals from becoming aggressive.

The incident occurred yesterday. Nadhirshah and his daughter had visited the pet hospital in Palarivattom for the grooming. Nadhirshah reportedly told a reporter that while they had previously visited the same hospital, this time they encountered unfamiliar staff. He expressed concern about unfamiliar individuals administering anesthesia. He claims the staff assured him they had handled larger animals. Following this, they allegedly put a noose/loop around the cat’s neck before attempting to sedate it.

“The next thing I saw was the cat’s dead body,” Nadhirshah stated. He added that the hospital authorities initially told him the cat died while they were trying to sedate it. Following this, he contacted the hospital’s doctor, who claimed not to have been present during the incident and stated that another lady doctor administered the anesthesia. Nadhirshah, however, does not believe this explanation. He has demanded a post-mortem examination of the cat’s body to ascertain whether the death was caused by the anesthesia or the noose placed around its neck.
