Kozhikode: Jiji Bhaskar, a 46-year-old scooter rider from Kannamvalli Parakkal, Thathoorpoyil, Mavoor, who was undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a car accident, has tragically passed away. The incident occurred on Sunday at Kallankode Cherupuzha in the Kannur district, where a car collided with the bike she was riding.
Following the accident, Jiji Bhaskar, also known as ‘Punchiri’, suffered severe injuries and was initially admitted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital. She was later transferred to the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment. She succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday morning while still under medical care.
Her husband, Sunil, who was riding the bike, also sustained serious injuries in the accident and is currently receiving treatment at the Medical College Hospital.
In a poignant turn of events, Jiji Bhaskar’s son, Abin Sunil, had tragically lost his life in a bike accident at the exact same location two years prior.
Jiji Bhaskar is survived by her mother, Parakkal Sulochana, and brother, Jinesh. Her father, K.V. Bhaskaran, had passed away earlier. The funeral is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
