Advocate Bailin Das Granted Bail in Young Lawyer Assault Case

Thiruvananthapuram: Advocate Bailin Das has been granted bail in the case involving the assault of a young female lawyer. The Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate Court XII issued the bail order today.
Bailin Das had been remanded to judicial custody by the Vanchiyoor court until May 27th. The anticipatory bail application hearing held two days prior witnessed strong arguments from both sides. The prosecution vehemently opposed the bail plea, emphasizing the seriousness of a woman being assaulted in her workplace. They argued that such incidents are grave matters requiring strict legal action.
However, the defense argued that the accused had no premeditated intention to assault the young woman.
The incident that led to the case occurred on May 13th. Bailin Das allegedly assaulted Shyamili, a young lawyer, using a mop stick. Charges including insulting a woman’s modesty and physical assault have been filed against him.
