Security Measures to Affect Morning Rituals on Monday

Guruvayoor Temple has announced darshan (worship) restrictions on Monday, July 8, 2025, due to the visit of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. As part of the Vice President’s security arrangements, darshan, weddings, and ‘choroonu’ (first rice feeding ceremony) will be restricted from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Weddings and ‘choroonu’ ceremonies should be conducted either before 7:00 AM or after 10:00 AM. The temple will arrange additional wedding halls to accommodate the ceremonies. Vehicle parking will not be permitted on the temple’s inner ring roads from Monday morning until the Vice President’s visit concludes. Guruvayoor Devaswom also stated that shops on both sides of the South Nada (southern entrance) will not be allowed to open until the Vice President’s departure.

The queues for local devotees and senior citizens’ darshan will close at 6:00 AM. Devaswom Chairman Dr. V.K. Vijayan and Administrator O.B. Arun Kumar have requested devotees to cooperate with the arrangements put in place by the Devaswom in connection with the Vice President’s visit to Guruvayoor Temple.
