Sabarimala Gold Theft Case Transferred to ED by Kollam Vigilance Court

Kollam, Kerala: In a significant development, the Kollam Vigilance Court has issued an order to transfer the ongoing Sabarimala gold theft case to the Enforcement Directorate (ED). This directive includes the immediate handover of all relevant documents pertaining to the case to the central agency.

The court’s decision marks a notable setback for the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the government, and the Devaswom Board, all of whom had previously opposed an ED investigation into the matter. The Vigilance Court explicitly rejected their collective stance, emphasizing the necessity of the ED’s involvement.

Sources indicate that the Enforcement Directorate had initially sought intervention from the High Court. However, the High Court subsequently advised the ED to approach the Vigilance Court to pursue the transfer of the case.
