LDF Votes in Nilambur Went to P.V. Anvar: M.V. Govindan

Kerala CPI(M) State Secretary M.V. Govindan has stated that Left Democratic Front (LDF) votes in Nilambur went to P.V. Anvar. Govindan claimed that Anvar secured votes by promoting the development initiatives undertaken by the Left government in the constituency over the past nine years as his own achievements. He further alleged that Anvar, who betrayed the LDF, shifted allegiance to the United Democratic Front (UDF). Govindan added that organizational weaknesses in Nilambur would be reviewed and necessary actions would be taken. He also clarified that his remarks regarding Anvar’s alleged RSS connections were not discussed in party meetings and did not lead to a reduction in votes for the LDF in Nilambur.

Govindan criticized the “strange stance” adopted by the UDF and some intellectuals in Nilambur against M. Swaraj, who is known for his extensive reading and clear positions. He stated that a campaign was mounted suggesting that reading and writing were “great offenses.” The State Committee has also decided to rectify organizational errors in Nilambur and take strong action.

Govindan further asserted that some individuals are attempting to create internal problems within the party. He made it clear that criticisms directed at the party secretary are, in fact, against the party itself. Similar attempts were made during the party conference period as well. He dismissed as false reports that the State Committee criticized the State Secretary or that the Chief Minister reprimanded him. “This approach is incorrect. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has not made any remarks against me. The Chief Minister himself stated in the committee that this was false,” Govindan said.
