Nun Found Dead by Hanging in Kollam Convent

Kollam: A nun was found dead, reportedly by hanging, at a convent in Kollam city on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Mary Scholastica, a native of Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Her body was discovered at approximately 3 PM at a place of worship situated near Sankers Hospital in Kollam.

Upon discovery, she was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but efforts to save her life were unsuccessful. Mary Scholastica had resided at the convent for the past three years.

Preliminary investigations revealed that her relatives had visited the convent two days before the incident. Authorities have also recovered a note from the scene, believed to have been written by Mary. Information gleaned from this note suggests that she was suffering from severe depression.

Police have initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding her death.
