Tragedy in Alappuzha: Man and Teenager Die by Suicide at Kuruvaatta Railway Station

Alappuzha: A man and his female friend have died by suicide after jumping in front of a train at Kuruvaatta Railway Station in Alappuzha. The incident involved Sreejith (38) and a 17-year-old female student, who arrived at the station on a motorcycle before the tragic event.

The train involved was the Thiruvananthapuram North – Amritsar Express, traveling towards Alappuzha. Officials at Platform No. 1 in Kuruvaatta, who observed the unusual behavior of the pair, had asked them to move away from the tracks. Despite the gatekeeper shouting warnings for them not to jump as the train approached, both individuals disregarded the warnings and jumped in front of the train.

Sreejith was married and a father of two children. The police are investigating the cause of their deaths.
