A bomb threat message targeting the Mullaperiyar Dam was received via email at the Thrissur Collectorate today. Following the anonymous threat, police forces and a bomb disposal squad were immediately dispatched to the site to conduct a thorough inspection as a security measure.
Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that the threat message is a hoax. Mullaperiyar is a highly sensitive and heavily secured area, with a dedicated police station headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police overseeing its safety and security protocols.
