Warning: Containers from Van Hai 503 Ship Could Wash Ashore on Kerala Coast

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has issued a warning that containers that fell from the Van Hai 503 ship are likely to wash ashore along the state’s coast. The containers are expected to start appearing on the shores from next Monday (June 16) and this phenomenon could continue until June 18.

The coasts of Ernakulam, Kollam, and Alappuzha districts are identified as the likely areas where the containers might wash up. The public has been cautioned not to touch any suspicious object that washes ashore. A minimum distance of 200 meters should be maintained from such objects.

If any suspicious items are spotted, the public is urged to immediately call 112 and report the location of the finding.
