Man Attacks Newly Married Woman at Her Home in Neyyattinkara

NEYYATTINKARA: A newly married woman was seriously injured after being attacked with a sharp weapon by her male friend at her home in Neyyattinkara. The victim, identified as Surya (28) from Venpakal, has been admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for treatment. The assailant, identified as Sachu, is reported to have also been the one who took her to the hospital.

The incident occurred this morning at Surya’s residence. Sachu arrived at the house and attacked Surya with a machete on the terrace. No one else was present at the time of the attack. Surya, who sustained severe injuries all over her body, was taken to the hospital on a motorcycle with the help of a friend, after which Sachu fled the scene, police said.

Surya was initially admitted to Neyyattinkara General Hospital but was later transferred to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for specialized treatment. Her condition is reported to be critical. The motive for the attack is not yet clear, and the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
