Kerala Tourism Website Ranks First in India for Visitor Traffic

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Tourism website (keralatourism.org) has secured the top position among Indian state tourism websites in terms of visitor numbers. This ranking was revealed by Similarweb, an international web traffic analysis site. The Government of India’s Incredible India website holds the second spot.
Kerala ranks second globally among travel sites with 118,205 ranking points. In the ranking of tourism sites of various countries, Kerala Tourism also holds the second position with a ranking of 9,987. Furthermore, in the ‘Tourism Industry’ category, Kerala maintains its second place with 1,669 points. Thailand Tourism leads in all three of these categories with a global rank of 1,226. Vietnam, Incredible India, and Indonesia occupy the third to fifth positions, respectively. According to Google Analytics, approximately 6 million users made nearly 7.9 million visits to the Kerala Tourism website during the analyzed period.
Website Performance and Features
Around 5.8 million users accessed the Kerala Tourism website through search engines, while over 1 million people directly typed “keralatourism.org” to visit the site. Another 1 million visitors arrived via advertisements. The website attracts visitors from approximately 200 countries. Besides the homepage, popular pages include those on accommodation, tourist destinations, tour packages, heli-tourism, wedding destinations, festival calendar, Theyyam calendar, and yoga.
The Kerala Tourism website boasts over 100,000 pages, characterized by high-resolution images, appealing videos, and an attractive layout. It also features a travel planner, live webcasts, and e-newsletters. Available in more than 20 languages, it serves as a comprehensive digital guide covering Kerala’s unique attractions, culture, and travel information. Tourism and Public Works Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas stated that the achievement in website ranking is a recognition of Kerala’s significance as a global tourism destination and its widespread acceptance among tourists.
