Man Who Stabbed Family Members and Fled into Forest Attacked by Wasps in Pathanamthitta

A man who stabbed three members of his family, including his wife, and subsequently fled into a forest in Pathanamthitta, was eventually forced out of hiding after being attacked by a swarm of wasps. The accused, identified as Manoj (46) from Chandanakkunnu Kunnampally in Elavumthitta, had gone into hiding following a violent domestic dispute.
The incident unfolded around 11:30 PM on Wednesday when Manoj allegedly attempted to stab his wife, son, and mother-in-law. Following the assault, he absconded into the dense Namakkuzhi Mala forest to evade capture. His wife and son, who sustained injuries in the attack, were later admitted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital for treatment.
After a period of hiding, Manoj was reportedly stung multiple times by a swarm of wasps within the forest. The severity of the wasp attack compelled him to emerge from his hiding place by Thursday evening. He sustained significant injuries from the stings.
Upon his emergence, police apprehended Manoj and transported him to Kottayam Medical College Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries. His wife and son continue to receive medical care at the same hospital.
