Court Grants Anticipatory Bail to PC George in Hate Speech Case

The Kottayam Sessions Court has granted anticipatory bail to PC George in connection with a hate speech case. The case was filed by the Erattupetta Police over remarks made by PC George during a TV channel discussion on January 6.
He was charged under sections related to promoting religious enmity and inciting violence. The Youth League’s Erattupetta Mandalam Committee filed a complaint alleging that PC George made anti-Muslim statements.
Muslim organizations strongly criticized his remarks, and accusations were raised against the CPI(M) for allegedly shielding him. Prominent leader KT Jaleel also came forward to denounce PC George’s controversial statements.
