Thiruvananthapuram’s Hit ‘City Sightseeing’ Double-Decker Bus Service Coming to Kochi

Budget Tourism Initiative to Launch Open-Top Bus Rides from July 13

The popular ‘Nagarakaazhchakal’ (City Sights) double-decker bus service, a hit in Thiruvananthapuram, is now set to launch in Kochi. This double-decker bus service, offering passengers the chance to enjoy the city’s beauty and Kochi’s backwater breeze, will commence operations this July 13. The project is being introduced as part of the state’s budget tourism initiative.

The inaugural journey will begin at 6:00 PM from the Boat Jetty KSRTC Stand, with ministers and other dignitaries attending the ceremony. An open double-decker bus will be used for the service, and a trial run has already been successfully completed.

The routes were carefully chosen to allow passengers to enjoy the sights from the open upper deck of the bus. The initial route will start from the Boat Jetty Stand, proceed via Thevara and Cochin Port Trust Avenue to Walk Way, then return via Maharaja’s College, High Court Junction, Goshree Bridge, and extend up to Kaalamukku Junction.

The fare for the journey has not yet been decided but will be announced soon. The service will operate from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
