No one should try to turn NSS into Communist, Congress or BJP, says G. Sukumaran Nair

NSS General Secretary G. Sukumaran Nair has emphatically stated that no one should attempt to transform the Nair Service Society (NSS) into a Communist, Congress, or BJP entity. He made these remarks during the Vijayadashami conference held in Kottayam.
Addressing the gathering, Sukumaran Nair clarified the NSS’s position on the Sabarimala temple development. He affirmed that the organization supported the government’s stance on the necessity of development initiatives for Sabarimala. Nair revealed that he had met with Minister V.N. Vasavan, who had personally sought NSS’s support on this matter. The Minister provided assurances that the traditions and rituals of Sabarimala would be meticulously preserved, a commitment that led to the NSS extending its support for the Ayyappa Sangamam.
Nair also directed strong criticism towards local television channels, accusing them of exacerbating the issue. He alleged that these channels actively spread propaganda, including reports of flex boards appearing against him in various locations. He suggested that the actions of the visual media clearly indicate external interference. Nair asserted that personal attacks against leaders would not succeed in weakening the NSS, an organization that has a proud history of overcoming significant opposition and growing stronger throughout its 112-year existence.
He concluded by emphasizing that a respectfully operating organization like the NSS cannot be undermined by mere self-serving motives. He issued a stern warning against anyone entertaining the illusion of disrespecting the Nair community, likening it to imagining they could dance on G. Sukumaran Nair’s chest.
