Actor Poojappura Radhakrishnan Announced as LDF Candidate for Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Polls
Film and serial actor Poojappura Radhakrishnan is set to contest the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections. Radhakrishnan will be contesting from the Jagathy ward as an LDF candidate. Poojappura Radhakrishnan is the District President of Kerala Congress (B). Party Chairman and Minister K. B. Ganesh Kumar announced Radhakrishnan’s candidature.
Meanwhile, the CPM candidates for the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation will be announced today. S. P. Deepak, considered a mayoral candidate, will contest from the Petta ward. Former Mayor K. Sreekumar will seek public mandate from the Chackai ward. Palayam Area Secretary Vanchiyoor Babu will contest from Vanchiyoor. R. P. Shivaji will enter the fray in Punnakamughal. Senior members like Shajitha Nazar are also on the list. Advocate Parvathy, a newcomer, will contest from the Gowreesapattom ward.
The local body elections in the state will be held in two phases on December 9 and 11. Vote counting is scheduled for December 13. Elections will be held in 1199 local bodies out of a total of 1,200 in the state, excluding Mattannur Municipality. The code of conduct has come into effect across the state, including Mattannur.
Polling will take place from 7 AM to 6 PM. Elections in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts will be held on December 9. Thrissur, Wayanad, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kannur, and Kasaragod will go to the polls on December 11. The notification will be issued on November 14. The last date for submitting nominations is November 21. Scrutiny will take place on November 22. Nominations can be withdrawn until November 24.
