Kochi: In a poignant turn of events, a groom tied the traditional ‘tali’ (mangalsutra) on his bride at her hospital bedside after she was involved in a car accident on their wedding day. Sharon, a resident of Thumpoli in Alappuzha, and Avani exchanged vows amidst the pain of the unforeseen incident. Simultaneously, a wedding feast was served to guests who had gathered at the originally scheduled wedding hall.
The couple’s wedding was meticulously planned for an auspicious time between 12:12 PM and 12:25 PM today. However, tragedy struck when Avani’s car met with an accident as she was returning from a beautician’s appointment in Thanneermukkom. She was initially rushed to Kottayam Medical College and subsequently transferred to Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi for specialized treatment.
Upon receiving news of the accident, the groom and his relatives immediately made their way to the hospital. After medical professionals confirmed that Avani’s condition was not critical, the families made the heartfelt decision to proceed with the wedding at the hospital, ensuring the auspicious time was not missed. Avani, who sustained a spinal injury, will require surgery. Despite the unexpected circumstances, the wedding feast proceeded as planned at the designated auditorium, where guests were served.
