V. D. Satheesan Performs Thulabharam with Unniyappam at Panmana Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in Kollam

Kollam: Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan performed ‘Thulabharam’ at the Panmana Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in Kollam on Monday, the day of Skanda Shashti. Congress workers in Panmana had vowed to perform the ritual if Satheesan won the last assembly elections.

The Leader of the Opposition arrived at the temple at 1:30 PM and was welcomed with traditional instrumental music. He circumambulated the temple before offering prayers. Following this, he performed the Thulabharam using Unniyappam (a sweet fried rice cake). Satheesan stated that performing the Thulabharam at Panmana Temple, also known as Dakshina Palani, on the auspicious day of Skanda Shashti, was a divine blessing.

The Unniyappam used for the ritual was sourced from the Kottarakkara Ganapathi Temple. Staff from the Kottarakkara temple came to Panmana temple to prepare the Unniyappam for the Thulabharam. Over eight thousand Unniyappams were required for the ceremony. Numerous Congress leaders and other individuals witnessed the event.

Panmana Grama Panchayat Vice President Panmana Balakrishnan, KPCC General Secretary P. Jermias, DCC Vice President R. Arun Raj, Kolath Venugopal, Panmana G. Velayudhankutty, S. Lalu, R. Jayakumar, Chavara Hareeshkumar, Jith, and other leaders welcomed him.
