Investigation Intensifies in Death of 16-Year-Old Girl in Ernakulam After Korean Note Found

Kochi: Police have intensified their investigation to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of a 16-year-old girl found deceased in a quarry at Thiruvankulam. The deceased has been identified as Adithya (16), daughter of Mahesh and Ramya, residents of Mamala Kakkad. Adithya was a first-year student of the Lab Technician course at Chottanikkara Government Vocational Higher Secondary School.

Police reported finding a three-page suicide note written by Adithya, stating that she was ending her life due to profound grief over the accidental death of a Korean friend she had met on Instagram. The note, discovered in English inside a notebook in her bag, detailed that her Korean friend, who was involved in the music industry, had died in an accident a week prior, and she found the sorrow unbearable. In addition to the suicide note, police also discovered other notes written in Korean within Adithya’s notebook. The girl expressed deep love for her parents but reiterated her inability to cope with the loss of her friend.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the possibility that Adithya might have been deceived by someone posing as a Korean friend on social media. Adithya’s phone is currently locked. Chottanikkara Police stated that the full facts of the case would only come to light after the phone is unlocked and thoroughly examined with the assistance of the cyber cell.
