Minister PA Mohammed Riyas Emphasizes Ideology Over Individual Conflicts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Public Works and Tourism Minister PA Mohammed Riyas has stated that politics should not be viewed as a wrestling match between individuals. Speaking on the nature of political discourse, the Minister emphasized that the essence of democratic engagement lies in the clash of ideologies and policies rather than personal vendettas or individual competitions.

The Minister noted that reducing political activity to mere personal rivalry undermines the core values of public service. He stressed that the focus should remain on developmental goals and addressing the needs of the citizens, rather than getting entangled in personality-driven conflicts.

Riyas further clarified that while healthy debate is vital for a functioning democracy, it must be centered on substantive issues that affect the common man. His comments come at a time when political discussions often shift toward individual characterizations rather than policy-based evaluations.
