Nedumkandam Double Murder: Absconding Suspect Saji Apprehended

NEDUMKANDAM: Saji (43), the prime suspect in the shocking double murder of his mother and brother at Pachadi in Idukki, has been taken into custody. After going missing on Sunday evening, he was apprehended by the police from a plantation near his residence. The arrest followed an extensive search operation involving drones and dog squads.

The victims, Marykutty (70) and her elder son Reji (48), had been missing since the second of this month. Suspicion grew when body parts were discovered buried in the backyard of their house. Although police had reached the location earlier, Saji had managed to tactfully escape the scene at that time.

Saji had been living with his mother and brother. Relatives have also raised concerns regarding the mysterious disappearance of his father eight years ago. The police are currently interrogating the suspect to determine the motive behind the killings.
