Woman Offers Namaz on Busy Palakkad Road Amidst Property Dispute

A woman performed Namaz prayers on a busy road in Palakkad city, drawing significant attention as a video of the incident went viral on social media. The woman, identified as Aneesa, spread a mat in the middle of the road in her prayer attire, causing a disruption to traffic.
The incident took place around noon on Wednesday at the IMA Junction in Palakkad. Aneesa, a resident from near Coimbatore, reportedly carried out the prayer as a form of protest. Her action is believed to be linked to a dispute over property she claims from her deceased husband’s family.
Aneesa alleges that her husband’s brothers divided his property among themselves, denying her rightful share. She claims she is entitled to 8 cents of land from her husband’s ancestral home in Kollengode, which her brothers-in-law have unlawfully taken possession of. Despite her repeated complaints, she states that she has received no response, leading her to this public demonstration.
The public prayer led to significant traffic disruption in the area. Traffic police quickly arrived at the scene and subsequently moved Aneesa to the South Police Station. The woman, a mother of two, has publicly demanded justice for her situation. It was reported that her brother, who was accompanying her, had momentarily stepped away to a nearby shop when she commenced her protest on the road. It is currently unclear whether any case has been registered against her in connection with the incident.
