Plus One Student Drowns in Temple Pond at Haripad Subrahmanya Temple

A plus one student who visited the Haripad Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in Alappuzha drowned in the temple pond. The deceased has been identified as Adwaith (17), son of Renju and Saranya from Kattil Market Puthanpurayil, Kumarapuram. The tragic incident occurred around 4:30 AM on Thursday. Adwaith had come to the temple with his mother and grandfather in connection with the Thaipooya Kavadi festival.

Adwaith went missing after he entered the Perumkulam (large pond) for a bath. A search operation was launched, and he was found submerged in the water. He was immediately rushed to Haripad Taluk Hospital, but his life could not be saved. Adwaith was a plus one student at Karuvatta NSS Higher Secondary School.

After the post-mortem examination was completed at Alappuzha Medical College Hospital, Adwaith’s body is currently being kept at the Haripad Taluk Hospital mortuary. The funeral will be held on Friday at 3 PM at his home, following a public viewing at his school. Adithya is his sister.
