Civil Police Officer Accused of Harassing Woman with Late-Night Messages in Thiruvananthapuram

Kazhakoottam: A complaint has been lodged against a Civil Police Officer for allegedly obtaining the mobile number of a woman who visited the police station to file a complaint and subsequently harassing her with late-night messages and calls. The woman has filed a formal complaint with the City Police Commissioner against Santhosh, a Civil Police Officer stationed at Thumba Police Station.

The Kazhakoottam Assistant Commissioner has initiated an investigation into the serious allegations. According to the complaint, the woman, who works as a hotel employee, had approached the Thumba Police Station to report a case of lost money. Santhosh, who was on duty at the time, allegedly took her phone number during the process.

The complainant stated that the officer then began to send her continuous messages and make harassing phone calls late into the night. It has also been noted that the accused officer, Santhosh, holds a leadership position within a police association.

Kazhakoottam Assistant Commissioner Chandradas acknowledged the gravity of the situation, stating that such actions by a police official are considered extremely serious. He assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted promptly, and a report on the incident would be submitted soon.
