Rally Held in Support of Expelled CPM Leader V Kunhikrishnan in Kannur

Kannur: A rally was organized in Kannur in solidarity with V Kunhikrishnan, a District Committee member who was recently expelled from the primary membership of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM). The demonstration, which took place in Velloor, saw participants raising slogans such as ‘No forgiveness for those who siphoned off party funds, no forgiveness for Madhusoodanan.’ Supporters also garlanded Kunhikrishnan during the event.

The expulsion of V Kunhikrishnan was officially announced by Kannur District Secretary K.K. Ragesh at a press conference. Ragesh stated that Kunhikrishnan’s actions were inconsistent with the conduct of a true communist, accusing him of betraying and backstabbing the party.

Following the expulsion, party workers who opposed Kunhikrishnan had previously staged a demonstration in front of his house, including bursting firecrackers. Kunhikrishnan was not present at his residence during that incident.

The decision to expel V Kunhikrishnan from the CPM’s primary membership was made at a District Committee meeting held on Monday. This decision endorsed a resolution passed during the District Secretariat meeting on Sunday. Party leaders asserted that Kunhikrishnan had committed severe disciplinary violations and had consistently made statements that brought disrepute to the party’s image and standing.
