Suresh Gopi Delivers Sharp Reply to UDF Councilor at Christmas Celebration in Thrissur

Union Minister Suresh Gopi delivered a pointed response to remarks made by a Congress councilor during a public Christmas celebration in Thrissur. The event, organized by a local Residents’ Association, drew attention due to the exchange.

Thrissur Mission Quarters UDF Ward Councilor Baiju Varghese initiated the discussion by stating, “We hear news of many brothers and sisters suffering. While we celebrate Christmas here, we receive distressing news. In truth, we understand that Christ suffered the most difficulties. However, the poor mothers and sisters in North Indian states suffer greater hardships than Christ. Our hearts ache when we learn this.”

In a direct retort, Suresh Gopi questioned the councilor’s assertion. “If you ask the councilor’s own party members who is orchestrating all this drama in North India and for what purpose, they will tell you. These are all activities for political instrumentalization. There is a reason for everything. Who created that reason? Who thought they could benefit from it? These are just their mischievous deeds,” the Union Minister responded. Devan, also present on stage, supported Suresh Gopi’s stance. Gopi further added that his house is adorned with lights, just like that of a Christian believer.

Suresh Gopi is reportedly organizing various party celebration events on Christmas Day, with programs scheduled in Irinjalakuda and Thrissur. Some party leaders have reportedly expressed their dissatisfaction regarding these events.
