Class 7 Student Dies by Suicide in Malappuram After Being Scolded for Mobile Phone Use

Malappuram: A 13-year-old girl died by suicide, allegedly heartbroken after being scolded by her family for playing on her mobile phone. The tragic incident occurred in Malappuram, where the deceased has been identified as Fathima Hanna, a seventh-grade student at Kondotty Kanthakkad GUP School.
According to reports, Fathima Hanna became upset following the scolding from her family and subsequently locked herself inside a room. When she did not open the door for a considerable period, relatives grew suspicious. Upon checking, they discovered the child hanging. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, medical efforts to save her life were unsuccessful.
The body of the deceased is currently being held in the mortuary of Manjeri Medical College Hospital. Authorities are proceeding with all necessary legal procedures, including a post-mortem examination, after which the body will be released to her relatives. The Kondotty Police have registered a case regarding the incident and have initiated a thorough investigation to ascertain all the circumstances surrounding the death.
