Elderly Woman Dies After Collapsing Inside Voting Booth in Thiruvallam

Thiruvananthapuram: An elderly woman who arrived to cast her vote tragically collapsed and died inside a polling booth. The deceased has been identified as Santha, 73, hailing from Manamel Plangal House in Thiruvallam. The unfortunate incident occurred yesterday morning around 11:40 AM at Booth Number 6 of Pachalloor Government LP School, which falls under the Thiruvallam ward.

Santha collapsed while she was entering the voting booth, immediately after completing the necessary procedures and having indelible ink applied to her index finger. Polling officials promptly rushed to assist her, attempting to revive the elderly woman, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Subsequently, the polling officials, along with the Thiruvallam police team present at the location, swiftly transported her to a private hospital. Despite their immediate actions, medical professionals were unable to save her life. As her relatives expressed no complaint, the police released the body. Santha was the wife of the late Vishwambharan.
